School or Mansion?

I am in school. I’m not sure which grade, but I am pretty sure it’s maybe junior or senior year. I go into my math class and the teacher is a middle-aged grumpy man. He gives us a ton of homework on this first day. I decide to skip the homework..not sure why. When I come back into class the next day, the teacher is very furious with me for not completing the homework. I am not alone; there are others who did not complete it. He decides to have us do “extra credit” to make up for it. The extra credit is a really weird project with Tonka trucks.  We just have to build them. How this pertains to math, I have no clue. I just do what I’m told so as not to get off on the wrong foot with the teacher.

Now the day before (the first day) the teacher already told us we’d have a special project today. We were assigned partners yesterday. Mine isn’t feeling well today and he gets up and runs from the room. I hear a voice say, “I will be her partner.” I turn around and on the next row and find out who volunteered..my friend, Tiffany. She moves up to the desk behind me. We start gabbing..as females do. The teacher is explaining that we will be going on a trip to a special place. While he is explaining all the details, Tiffany and I continue talking. Suddenly the room gets silent and we look up; the teacher and all our classmates have left us!
We decide to get up and investigate what is going on & where everybody went. When we step outside the classroom, we are teleported to a hallway..but not a school hallway. It is a hallway of an enormous house. This house is not to even be considered a house; it’s a mansion. It’s so dark and quiet just like the type from a scary movie. We move from room to room searching for our classmates. We go into a bedroom because Tiffany has to use the restroom. I say to her, “You could’ve just waited until we went downstairs. This house has four bathrooms.” This house is both strange and familiar. I can feel that I have been here before but I am still unable to navigate.
We go down a staircase slowly. It winds around..spiraling downward. Tiffany is scared to death because she sees all kinds of dust, cobwebs, spiders, and even a mouse. We keep walking and walking. It seems like we are walking in circles. We visit the same rooms multiple times. Finally, we go back up the staircase. I turn to look in a room but there is nothing there. I turn back around and discover..Tiffany is gone. I start running frantically to find her…

Schools and unfamiliar houses are extremely common settings in my dreams.
To dream that you are in school signifies feelings of inadequacy and childhood insecurities that have never been resolved.

Alternatively, a dream that takes place in school may be a metaphor for the lessons that you are learning from your waking life. You may be going through a “spiritual learning” experience.

To see a mansion in your dream symbolizes your greatest potential and growth. You may feel that your current situation or relationship is in a rut.

To dream that you are abandoned suggests that it is time to leave behind past feelings and characteristics that are hindering your growth. Let go of your old attitudes. A more direct and literal interpretation of this dream indicates you have a fear of being deserted, abandoned, or even betrayed. It may stem from a  recent loss or a fear of losing a loved one. The fear of abandonment may manifest itself into your dream as part of the healing process and dealing with losing a loved one. It may also stem from unresolved feelings or problems from childhood. Alternatively, the dream indicates that you are feeling neglected or that your feelings are being overlooked. Perhaps the dream is a metaphor that you need to approach life with “reckless abandon” and live more freely.

To see friends in your dream signify aspects of your personality that you have rejected, but are ready to incorporate and acknowledge. The relationships you have with those around you are important in learning about yourself. Alternatively, dreaming of a friend indicates positive news.

To dream that you are searching for something signifies the need to find something that is missing or needed in your life. The dream may be analogous to your search for love, spiritual enlightenment, peace or even a solution to a problem.

To see spiral or winding stairs signify growth and/or rebirth.
